Miracles Happen!

Laci is cancer free!!!!!!!!!!
This is basically the most FABULOUS update of all time! We are all SOOO happy for Laci!

For those of you who Laci (my sister-in-law) was diagnosed with a brain tumor - Glipblastoma Multiforme Stage IV (GBM). Unfortunately, there is no cure for this kind of brain tumor at the present time, at least this is what we have been told. The overall prognosis for GBM has changed little in the past 2 decades, despite major improvements in neuroimaging, neurosurgery, radiation treatment techniques, and supportive care. Few patients with GBM survive longer than 3 years and only a handful survive 5 years. Laci was hospitalized this past July 7th and spent two weeks in ICU, underwent a brain biopsy, almost 6 weeks of daily radiation and chemotherapy. Surgery is their first choice of treatment but Laci's tumor was inoperable because of the location.

Yesterday, Laci and her parents went to see her doctors in L.A. to see the results of the MRI she had this past Friday. I don't know how to put into words what we saw except a great miracle from the Lord! Her Tumor is GONE!!! Her cancer is GONE!!! Dr. Green her oncologist kept saying this is fabulous news! The best! We are all so excited!!! He had the biggest grin on his face when he put both her MRI's up to show us...the one that she had right before her biopsy on July 12 and her last one on Friday. One showed a big white golf size spot which was the tumor and the MRI today showed the exact some spot but this one was completely black and empty. He said it was like someone just got in there and cut it away...(and we know who that was!) Her tumor he told us was completely gone! He told us never in all his years of being a brain tumor specialist he had ever seen a tumor disappear that fast or in that way...especially someone like Laci that hadn't had any surgery's to remove it since hers was inoperable. Needless to say we are thrilled beyond belief!!! We shed many happy tears today with Laci as we tried to let this all soak in. We have been on our knees a lot thanking our Heavenly Father for this latest and most great miracle in our lives....and in Laci's life. And a gratitude prayer for all of you that have prayed for her, put her on your temple rolls, fasted for her....every prayer was heard! How can we ever thank you enough! Our hearts are so full of joy...there are no words!

Laci will still be on Chemo for the next one to two years to try and keep this tumor from coming back since her Dr. told us there is no cure Laci's cancer. Her MRI came back as a very happy, yet puzzling MRI to her team of Dr.s. They seemed almost as thrilled as we are and are going to be watching Laci closely as she will continue to have her MRI's every 8 weeks in hopes that the tumor doesn't come back. That is our prayer tonight...and of course one of GREAT THANKSGIVING! No matter what happens, we know without a doubt she was given a miracle today.

(I know you all are sick of wedding pictures, I just wanted everyone to see how beautiful she is! And this is the only picture I have of me and her, but that will soon change!!!)
