04 November 2011

I loved today. particularly the weather.  It was actually somewhat cold!  68 degrees and oh-so lovely.  I got to wear a long sleeve shirt, jacket, AND scarf.  It poured down rain a few times today while I was at work.  Winter is finally here my friends.

Friday night date night was funnnnn.  Had dinner at Lucille's BBQ with Richie, Emileah, and the kids.  To go with the winter weather today, I ordered the clam chowder, which was even more delish than I expected.  Don't you love it when that happens?  We all enjoyed our tasty meals and each other's company. Lucille's BBQ will never disappoint, unless you order the memphis pulled-pork sandwich.  Order that and you will leave disappointed.  I'll never make that mistake again.  After dinner, Kevin and I walked over to the movie theaters and saw Tower Heist.  The movie was alright.  Of course there were some really funny parts, mainly anytime Eddie Murphy was on the screen.  Other than that, it was alright.  I really was expecting more from Ben Stiller.  But whatev, we still enjoyed our night out together.

Now I am sitting at home, in some cozy pj's while Kevin flips through some shows on TV.  I'm debating on whether or not to turn on the fire place.  I knew I should have stopped for that pumpkin-spice latte.  I think I'll settle for some hot chocolate instead.  I'll save the pumpkin spice latte tomorrow.  Now if only I could decide on a movie to watch.  We'll probably just end up watching Friends.  This is my 4th time going through the seasons.  The show never gets old.  Best investment ever.  $8 a season at Target on black Friday 3 years ago.

The past few months I haven't been able to sleep in past 6:30am on Saturday mornings.  Yeah, I know, something is seriously wrong with me.  Once I can't go back to sleep after 45 min, I'll just get up and head to the living room.  These early morning have been my time to catch up on my shows on the DVR.  So really, the only bad thing about waking up early on Saturday morning is that I am tired Saturday night.  We'll see what tomorrow brings.

(chowing down on an apple in the kitchen before work.)

It's Friday.
Thank goodness.
Fridays mean jeans at work.
Yeah!

Well actually, this week wasn't so bad with all of the Halloween festivities going on.  I wish I could say it felt more like Fall around these parts, but unfortunately, other than cooler mornings and evenings, it does not.  The acclaimed "perfect weather" of Southern CA isn't as great as one might think.  At least not for me.  I miss seasons.  I miss seeing the leaves change colors.  I miss changing my wardrobe as the months progressed throughout the year.  However, I will say that I do not miss trying to be mobile in the snow.

Tonight BYU has their football game.  I like when they play on Fridays because that means our Saturdays are free.  Although, at this point, the only plan for tomorrow is to get the oil changed.  And since I do not participate in the viewing of collegiate football, or any football for that matter, I am trying to decide how to entertain myself tonight.  I am thinking I'll stick to what I like best: shopping.  As a wife who has a husband who is a BYU fanatic, borderline straight-up crazy, I deserve my little shopping adventures each weekend.  At least that is what I tell myself as I happily drive to the mall or shopping center of my choice each Saturday.

I am thinking about having laser hair removal done on my arm pits.  It seems like one of the smartest ideas I've had yet.  I absolutely HATE shaving my armpits and will typically opt for wax.  The downfall about waxing is having to wait for the hair to get long enough to wax!  Never having to shave my arm pits seriously sounds glorious.  I know for a fact that I will never need that hair ever again and that Kevin will also appreciate this decision.  Has anyone had this procedure done or know anyone that has?  I'd like some real life insight, other than what I've read online.

I'd like to take a moment to predict my future.  Just so that when it actually happens, I can say I knew it all along.  Okay.... I totally think that Kevin and I are going to have four kids.  Three girls and then a little boy last.  Our girls are going to be total princess-like divas, which I will love, love love and our golden boy will be a lot like Kevin, just a tad more into playing sports, which will allow him to fulfill Kevin's life long dream of having a son play BYU football.  There, I said it.  Now lets watch it all unfold.

Ta-ta my friends!

29 August 2011

The City of Long Beach has decided to make my life miserable.

EVERY.
SINGLE.
STORE...

Requires you to bring your own shopping bags
or pay to use their paper bags.

O-M-G
MAD!

At first, I was like ...
"Okay, cool.  This will force me to be "green"; in one way, kinda."
So I bought some cool, reusable, canvas bags
while checking out at the grocery store.
The bags could actually hold a lot more stuff
and felt more sturdy.
Nice....

A few days later, I am at the store again
and about ready to checkout.
"DANGIT! Forgot the stupid bags".
Guess I'll buy some more.

And then again...

I am at the store and about ready to checkout.
"DANGIT! Forgot the stupid bags, AGAIN!"
Guess I'll buy some more.

You get the picture.
The same thing has happened over and over.

Not once have I remembered to bring those
stinkin' reusable bags.
NOT ONCE!
Or the shopping trip was spur of the moment,
so of course I wouldn't have the reusable bags
with me.

Now rather than buying more stupid reusable bags,
I pay for the stupid paper bags.
Because obviously I lack the intelligence required
to remember to bring grocery bags with me everywhere.

And when I don't want to feel defeated by the system,
I dump everything in my trunk without the stupid bags.
And make multiple stupid trips back and forth
to the car to bring everything inside.
